East Bristol Contemporary - 19
Embarking on a collaborative dialogue with each artist Sean created modes of display for the exhibition at East Bristol Contemporary. Each piece is the result of investigatory to-ing and fro-ing of discourse, from challenging the conventional presentation modes in some cases, to complete re-imagination of works in others. An appreciation of furniture design is evident in this attempt to work beyond traditional gallery-style displays. The modes of display are on wheels and are designed to be movable, each equipped with the ability to inhabit new space. A method allowing the different works to spend time with each other, “pushed right up close like a staring contest and at other times allowing the space to breath”.
Work by artists Chris Alton, Bethan Hughes and Ben Jones.
